I believe that "shrimp" is the plural of shrimp (unless a Quebecois is in an English speaking area, where they tend to say, "shrimps", "cereals", "graffitis"), etc. If you are speaking of a pile, or 3/4 lb. of the specific crustacean, it is "shrimp". However, if you are referring to > 1 of the suborders, of the order decapod crustaceans (e.g, Mexican white shrimp vs. extra large Atlantic shrimp - think Forest Gump), then you would refer to them as shrimps.That is my answer, in a crustacean shell.Louise
